The country’s commercial vehicle industry is ready to regain its top level before the global epidemic after a soft period of seven years. It is expected that during the current financial year, domestic sales will reach the figure of 10 lakhs. This improvement will be speeded up with light commercial vehicles, which are expected to have about 62 percent stake in the total sales. The credit for this goes to the growing mechanisms of e-commerce and growing warehousing in medium and small cities. This reform shows a return to the top levels before the epidemic in FY 2019.

According to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Sayam), commercial vehicle manufacturers had sent 1,007,319 vehicles across the country to dealers during FY19. Sayam data shows that 9,56,671 commercial vehicles were sent to wholesale sales in FY 25. This number was 1.2 percent less than the previous financial year.
