A woman was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 on Saturday for killing her 15-day-old daughter in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. This incident happened in February this year, when Priyanka threw her newborn daughter in the pond after going to her parents’ house. The girl’s body was later recovered from the pond.
According to the information, on the complaint of the woman’s father, the police registered a case and started investigation. While hearing the case, special judge Rinku Jindal declared Priyanka guilty. Government lawyer in the case Aishwarya Kumar said that the court has given severe punishment to the guilty woman, which has now become a warning to the family.
