Pakistani player will be out of The Handred League?
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB )’s decision to sell the share of The Hundred Clubs has led to a boost in the region. The investment of 4 big franchisees of IPL has benefited 975 million pounds by selling stake in eight teams in ‘The Hundred’. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries – Oval Invinesables (owner of Mumbai Indians), GMR Group – Southern Brev (co -owner of Delhi Capital), Sanjeev Goenka’s RPSG – Manchester Originals (owner of Lucknow Super Giants) and Sun TV Network – Northern Super Bishs (Owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad) has bought a stake in four out of eight franchises.
Pakistan players will have problems?
According to PTI report, the cumulative investment of four IPL teams is around 300 million pounds (about 3257 crore rupees), which is about 30 percent of the assessment received from the sale of stake. Now the question is whether Pakistani players will be allowed to play in four franchisees in which IPL teams have stake. Pakistani players have not been playing in the IPL since the 2008 Mumbai attacks. In fact, in the first three sessions of SA20, where all 6 teams are associated with IPL franchisees, there is no Pakistan player now.
However, ECB CEO Richard Gold has assured that this will not happen in The Hundred. Gold said, “We know about it in other areas, but this will not happen here.” Gold said that he knows that despite the ownership of IPL teams, Indian players cannot be allowed to join The Hundred. Richard Gold said, “In the context of India’s TV market, the foreign market is very important for us.”
