After the stampede in Mahakumbh, the administration of other districts of UP has also been alerted. The administration of districts of Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Gonda, Jaunpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Rae Bareli etc. has closed the routes coming towards Prayagraj to control the crowd. For this, barricading has been done on the highway. Vehicles are being stopped and held in the temporary holding area. DM, SP to other big officials have taken to the road. Officers are taking stock of the situation by going on the spot.

Although, the devotees are facing a lot of inconvenience by stopping the route leading to Prayagraj, it is necessary to take this step to stop the crowd and ensure safety. Officials say that soon the route will be opened when the situation is normal.

List of closed routes for Prayagraj

Rae Bareli- The Rae Bareli-Prayagraj highway has been closed. Due to this, many vehicles have been returned. People going to Prayag have been stopped in the holding area. IG Prashant Kumar reached the spot and inspected the holding area. A dozen holding areas have been built from Rae Bareli to Prayagraj border, where arrangements have been made to stop the devotees.

At the same time, Rae Bareli District Magistrate has declared a holiday in schools and colleges. This step has been taken keeping in mind the increasing crowd and traffic management during Mahakumbh. DM-SP is patrolling from railway station to bus station.

Ghazipur- The district administration has stopped the vehicles going to Mahakumbh till further orders. Arrangements have been made for passengers at the local RTI Ground. Devotees were going to Darjeeling, West Bengal and from far flung via Bihar via Ghazipur Prayagraj. Some devotees told that they have come out of the vehicles 24 to 48 hours ago, due to the jam, the administration has stopped.

Bhadohi’s condition

Bhadohi In view of the huge crowd, barricading has been installed on the route from Bhadohi to Prayagraj. Devotees coming from here are being stopped there. Hundreds of passengers have been stopped in the holding area. Their food and drink are also being arranged.

Mirzapur- Arrangements have been made at many places to stop the devotees going from Mirzapur to Prayagraj. The police has increased security on these routes. Vehicles are being prevented from going to Prayag by barricading on the highway.

Gonda- Roadways buses from Gonda district to Prayagraj have been stopped till advance orders. Passengers have been advised to postpone the journey of Prayagraj at the moment. Checking is being done by putting barricades on the toll booth and highway.

Jaunpur- Keeping in mind the huge crowd in Mahakumbh, the movement of Prayagraj from Jaunpur has been stopped. Here too, devotees are being stopped through police barricading and diversion.

Banda hall

Banda-Banda district The movement of four -wheelers on the routes leading to Prayagraj has been stopped. About one and a half thousand vehicles and buses have been stopped. A situation like jam was formed on the highway. The administration says that they will be dispatched when the crowd comes under control. At the moment, roadways operators have returned their money to passengers.

Chitrakoot- Traffic has been completely stopped in view of the huge crowd on the route from Chitrakoot to Prayagraj. Barricading has been done on the highway.

Let us tell you that during the bath of Mauni Amavasya, a huge crowd of devotees thronged the confluence of Prayagraj. The security system deteriorated due to the stampede on Sangam Noj, after which the police and administration closed the routes coming from the surrounding districts. The administration has appealed to the devotees to avoid going to Sangam nose and take a bath at other bathing ghats.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the devotees to follow the instructions of the administration and take a bath there. The Chief Minister said that Sangam nose should be avoided and no rumor should be taken care of.
