In this case, Additional SP (Rural) of Bahraich district Durga Prasad Tiwari said that Sub Inspector Anjani Kumar Rai has died due to poor health in Mahakumbh. His family has been informed. Those people have reached the spot. Post mortem has been done by filling the body’s panchnama. We are in touch with the local police, whatever help needs to the family will be provided.

Additional SP- On 29 January, a notice was received that the sub-inspector Anjani Rai, who was appointed in the district Bahraich, who was engaged in Mahakumbh Prayagraj, died at around 12.00 pm due to poor health. The information was immediately given to his family. On which the family reached Prayagraj on the spot. Action of Panchayatanama and postmortem has been taken from the concerned police station level. At present, the Bahraich police is in touch with the Prayagraj police, all necessary action is being taken from the level of the police.

According to the information received, the deceased Anjani Rai was originally from Ghazipur. Currently he was posted in Bahraich and the family lives in Gorakhpur. As soon as the information of the incident was received, an atmosphere of mourning spread in the family and the police department. At first, rumors of his death were erected from the stampede in Mahakumbh, but later it was clear that he died due to poor health.
