Passports were being made at fake addresses, cases were registered against 39 people, action on 13 policemen
In Faridabad, the police have registered a case against 39 people in the case of making passports on the basis of fake address. Negligence of 13 policemen has been revealed in this case, including a former police station in -charge (SHO). A departmental inquiry has been recommended against all these.
How was the case revealed?
The Regional Passport Office was informed that some people living in Jawahar Colony, Faridabad, have made passports by giving fake addresses. After this, on 23 January 2023, the passport department submitted a list of 39 suspected passport holders to the Faridabad Police and demanded an inquiry.
During the investigation, it was found that all these passports were issued at fake addresses. Investigating officer ACP Tigaon revealed that policemen were negligent in passport verification and did not investigate properly.
Allegations against policemen
According to the information recorded in the FIR, Head Constable Satendra, EHC Dildar, Constable Rakesh, Constable Aman and Constable Rakesh did not correctly examine the passport records. At the same time, former SHO Sub-Inspector Gunpal and Sub-Inspector Ramkishan signed the verification form of applicants.
Apart from this, Lady Sub-Inspector Pavitra, Sub-Inspector Arvind Mohan and SI Sandeep had passport verification, but did not investigate the real address. At the same time, constable Sunil has been accused of negligence in the investigation of documents.
Such cases have been revealed earlier also
Earlier, a similar case had come to light in Mujesar police station area in June 2023, but the police could not reach the accused yet. At the same time, in November 2023, a case of issuing passports was registered at fake address.
SHO Inspector Krishna Kumar of Saran police station said, “A case has been registered against those who were making passports at fake addresses.” Now the police is busy in further investigation and is trying to find out whether any big racket is hand in these cases.
