New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore i.e. RCB, one of the most fan base teams in IPL history, has announced its new captain. In IPL 2025, star batsman Rajat Patidar will be seen captaining RCB. RCB announced this on Thursday. Patidar is part of the RCB team since 2022 and these players have managed to become the captain of RCB after just 2 years of strong game. Came in team for just 20 lakhs

Born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Rajat Patidar joined RCB in the place of injured Lavanith Sisodia in IPL 2022 for a price of Rs 20 lakh. Silver represents Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket. Rajat first represented RCB in IPL 2021 and scored 71 runs in four matches played in the season. Later he became part of the RCB team after one year.

Rajat Patidar has played only 27 matches in the IPL so far and during this time he has scored 799 runs. His best score is 112, while his strike rate is around 159. Before the mega auction of IPL 2025, RCB team retained Patidar at a price of 11 crores.

Was started his career as a bowler

31 -year -old Rajat Patidar started his career as a bowler. After the under-15, he focused on batting. He also had to undergo surgery after a knee injury while playing football in 2014. He stayed away from the ground for 8 months but after that everything changed. After surgery he came back as a separate player who wanted to achieve something big. To further improve the batting technique, Patidar took training from former Indian batsman Amay Khurasia. After this everything changed.

Madhya Pradesh also captained

Rajat Patidar plays domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh. He made his debut in 2015. Rajat has played a total of 68 matches in the first class and during this time a total of 4738 runs have been scored on his bat. In List A, he has scored 2211 runs in 64 matches. Rajat has also played 3 Tests and 1 ODI match for India.
