The government has now come into action mode in the violence case in Nagpur, Maharashtra. After the bulldozer action at Faheem Khan’s house, the anti -encroachment squad of Nagpur Municipal Corporation has also demolished the illegal construction of the house of Yusuf Sheikh, accused in this violence.
This action took place at a time when Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis indicated strict action against the rioters. After this, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) demolished the illegally built house of Faheem Khan on Monday. Faheem Khan is allegedly the mastermind behind communal violence in the palace, Hanspuri and Bhaldarpura areas of Nagpur.
In fact, during a press conference on March 22, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was asked whether a bulldozer would be run on the rioters’ houses in Nagpur like Uttar Pradesh? On this question, Chief Minister Fadnavis had said, “When the right time comes, action will be taken.” A few days later, NMC started bulldozer action on the illegal construction of Faheem Khan.
Fahim Khan is the Nagpur city president of the Minority Democratic Party (MDP). He had allegedly built illegal construction at plot number 61/A in Sanjay Bagh Colony of Yashodhara Nagar. NMC had earlier issued a notice in the name of Mahirunissa Shamim Khan, a copy of which was delivered to Faheem Khan’s house. In this notice, Faheem Khan and his family were asked to break their illegal construction within a week, otherwise Bulldozer action will be taken by Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
Faheem Khan has been arrested for inciting violence and conspiracy during the riots in Nagpur. A case of treason has also been registered on him and the police is investigating his alleged role in communal violence.
