West Bengal Governor C.V. Anand Bose on Sunday appreciated the Mamta Banerjee government for ensuring peaceful Ram Navami in the state. He said that for the first time in many years, Ramnavami has been celebrated in a peaceful manner in West Bengal.
Bose said that during the celebration of Ram Navami this year, the previous experiences of political mud and violence were seen far away.
A statement issued by Raj Bhavan said, ‘Ramnavami was celebrated in a peaceful manner in West Bengal for the first time in recent times and in many years. The combined efforts of everyone were successful in making it successful.
Bose said that the state government and political parties have joined hands to ensure that Ram Navami is celebrated with joy.
The statement said, “Governor Bose thanked people in the last few days for reacting to his appeal to celebrate Shri Ram Navami with dignity.”
It said, ‘The Chief Minister and the government made a comprehensive plan and deployed sufficient number of security forces. The installed mechanism is on high alert. The administrative campaign and capacity were fully demonstrated, as it was a great success for everyone in ensuring that people celebrate the festival in an atmosphere of happiness and peace.
Apart from this, BJP state president and MP of West Bengal, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar claimed late Sunday night that Ramnavami’s procession was attacked in Park Circus Seven Point area of Kolkata. He targeted the state’s Mamta government and the police administration. Also, described this attack as pre-planned and targeted violence.
