9 people betting on IPL match arrested, weapons and cash recovered – Nine arrested for betting in ipl in Moradabad Up LCLK
In Prayagraj, UP, the police raided a house and arrested 9 bookies, betting on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match played under the Indian Premier League (IPL). Police have recovered huge quantity of cash, mobile phones, speculative documents and weapons from the spot.
According to the report of the news agency, City SP Kumar Ranvijay Singh said that the police had received secret information that betting is being done in a house near the Police Training College in Civil Lines area. Acting on the information, the team of Civil Lines police station raided and arrested 9 people.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sushil alias Surendra, Hemant Kumar, Abhinav, Kaushal Kapoor, Vipul Juil, Manoj Arora, Dharmendra Kumar, Rohit Gupta and Mohammad Shahzade. Police have recovered Rs 1.46 lakh cash, several mobile phones, speculative related documents, as well as a 45 bore pistol, six cartridges, a 32 -bore revolver, six cartridges, seven of 315 bore and nine live cartridges of 45 bore.
SP City Ranvijay Singh said that this network of betting is probably connected to big IPL bookies and is being investigated. The police is now increasing the scope of investigation to search for other members of this racket and reach the large network.
Police say that it has become clear from the initial investigation that the accused were involved in betting for a long time and they had resorted to modern technology and mobile apps for this. Digital forensic examination of documents and mobile data received from them will be done so that other members of this network can also be revealed.
