Disclosing a sensational case, Dehat Kotwali police station in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh has arrested a person named Dr. Mubarak, who had killed a person named Sonu by burning him alive to plot his death. Police said that the accused had hatched this conspiracy after watching more than 100 episodes of Crime Patrol. He had planned to grab the insurance and loan amount by pretending to be dead.

According to SP City Abhimanyu Manglik, Dr. Mubarak had a debt of around Rs 26 to 30 lakh, which included the pressure of personal loan, insurance premiums and other liabilities. Troubled by financial constraints, he planned to fake his death and get the insurance money for his family and all the debts would be waived off. For this he bought an old Maruti 800 car and started searching for an unclaimed dead body. So that he can prove his identity.

But when he did not find the body anywhere, he targeted Sonu (friend) of his locality, who was often in an inebriated state and kept coming to him to ask for money. After this, on the evening of 22nd December, Dr. Mubarak called Sonu to a dhaba and made him sit in the car with him on the pretext of giving him alcohol. Both of them first had food at the dhaba and then drank alcohol. During this, Mubarak mixed intoxicating pills in the alcohol, due to which Sonu became unconscious.

Car was set on fire by pouring petrol in a deserted place

After this he took her along with the car to a deserted place near Yamuna Canal. There he poured petrol and set the car on fire, in which Sonu was burnt alive. The next day after the incident, police found a burnt Maruti 800 car near Bajopura canal, which contained a burnt body. Police started investigation with the help of forensic team and CCTV footage. The number plate of the car revealed that Dr. Mubarak had purchased this car a few months ago.

Conspiracy hatched to grab insurance and loan money

SP City further said that on the other hand, Sonu’s family had also lodged a complaint in the police station that the missing person could be Sonu. When the police arrested Dr. Mubarak, he confessed his entire plan. He told that he carried out this conspiracy to grab the insurance and loan money. Police have also recovered the petrol can, plastic gloves and Sonu’s neck chain used in the incident.

After filing FIR the accused was sent to jail

In the CCTV footage, both are seen going together and buying liquor. Dr. Mubarak did not involve his wife in this conspiracy. His wife knew only that he would create a false story of his death by arranging for an unclaimed body. The investigation of the case is still going on and the police have registered a case of murder and sent the accused to jail.

The accused said this during police interrogation

When interrogated by the police, the arrested accused told that I wanted to become rich in a short time, for which I had made a plan. Under this plan I had to search for a car and a dead body of a person. I will burn the car along with him and make myself look dead. With this, my wife will get my death certificate made and will take the money for insurance etc. and the personal loan of Rs 10 lakh taken from the bank will also be waived off.
