After stabbing wife to death man tries to slit his own throat lcltm
On Wednesday, a man allegedly stabbed his wife to death in Cuttack, Odisha. After this, as per the plan, he was going to cut his own throat but he was saved. Police said that the man’s neighbors caught him and stopped him in time.
He told that this incident happened in Siddheshwar Sahi of Lalbagh police station area in the afternoon. Biswajit Mallik and Bishnupriya Mallik, aged around 30, got married in 2019 after dating for several years. He also had a four year old daughter. But after marriage, their relationship was full of ups and downs from the very beginning.
Biswajeet was a local businessman, while Bishnupriya was a constable posted in the cyber cell of the Crime Branch of Odisha Police. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) PK Raut said, ‘The fight between the two started over a minor issue on Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, in anger, Biswajeet attacked Bishnupriya repeatedly with a kitchen knife. After excessive bleeding, Bishnupriya died on the spot.
He said, ‘After this, Vishwajeet, frightened, tried to cut his throat with the same knife. However, neighbors reached the spot and stopped him. After admitting Biswajeet to a nearby hospital, the police registered a case and sent his wife’s body for post-mortem. Their family told the police that both of them were planning to separate and get a divorce.
