After stampede in New Delhi, strict protection at major railway stations of UP, strict protocols applicable – Striat Security Measures at Key Railway Stations in Up Following Delhi Stampede LCLK

In view of the stampede and huge crowd for Mahakumbh at New Delhi railway station on Saturday night, tight security arrangements have been implemented at major railway stations like Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Lucknow and Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. Railway administration and local administration are together ensuring that the crowd remains controlled and there is no untoward incident.

Strict adherence to security protocol

According to the report of the news agency, North Central Railway official Shashikant Tripathi said that the security protocols implemented during the big festivals like Mouni Amavasya and Basant Panchami are being implemented strictly now. The entry of passengers at Prayagraj Junction is being done only from the city side and they are being kept in the ‘holding area’ till the arrival of the train. RPF Inspector Shiv Kumar said that this strategy of crowd control is proving effective.

Strict arrangements in Varanasi too

North Eastern Railway official Ashok Kumar said that passengers are also being stopped in safe areas at Jhunsi and Rambagh stations of Varanasi, until their train arrives, after the incident of Delhi at Varanasi junction also, after the incident of Delhi Has been given

Station director Arpit Gupta said that the entry of vehicles has been banned, barricades have been installed at major places, and security forces are constantly monitoring the crowd. Special security in Ayodhya

After the Delhi stampede incident, strict security arrangements have also been made at Ayodhya railway station. Different entry and exit points have been created for ease of passengers. More than 300 personnel of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP have been deployed and are being monitored with 200 CCTV cameras.

Security link in Lucknow and Kanpur also

In Lucknow, Joint Commissioner of Police (Joint CP) Amit Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central Raveena Tyagi and Railway Director Prashant Kumar inspected Charbagh railway station and directed to improve the arrangements. Joint CP Amit Verma said, “We are here to ensure the safety and convenience of the passengers, all necessary steps are being taken to prevent overcrowding.”

In Kanpur, District Officer Jitendra Pratap Singh conducted a security review at Kanpur Central Station and has instructed the officials not to change the platform before adopting strict security protocols and before the arrival of trains.

Precaution is also being taken in Mirzapur

Although the crowd is relatively lower as compared to other major stations at Mirzapur station, additional security measures have been taken to avoid overcrowding. Deployment of security forces at all major railway stations of UP has been increased, monitoring of CCTV cameras has been intensified, and special arrangements have been made for the convenience of passengers.
