AI Foundational model of $ 1.2 million will come to India – AI Foundational Model of 2 Million will come to India

Founders of San Francisco (America) real time machine learning platform TurboML have taken strategic initiative to bring Artificial Intelligence (AI) researchers with Artificial Intelligence (AI) researchers with A to AI Foundational Models based on Indian languages. Siddharth Bhatia, one of the founders of the company, has said that he has discussed the scheme with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and recently he has also met with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. During this time, he has informed Vaishnav about his efforts to create an AI model based on Indian languages at a cost of less than $ 1.2 million within 10 months. The project will get money from Silicon Valley investors and other global investors.
Bhatia reported that he is going to bring Indian experts from teams leading models such as Chat GPT, Anthropic Cloud, Google Gemini and Meta Lama as well as Indian experts as well as contributors of original transformer paper. The proposed model will be a beneficial entity to invest again in future.

Bhatia said, “After a detailed analysis we found that it would require an investment of $ 1.15 million, which would include the cost of the preparation and graphic processing unit (GPU) in two phases and will also be spent on dataset training and people’s recruitment. We will do most of the work in India and it will be completed with the original team of about 30 people. It will take about 10 months to complete. However, he has also not ruled out the possibility of government assistance to help in his efforts.
Bhatia said that investment costs include the current commercial rate of use of GPU. However, under the subsidy scheme of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, it can be reduced to $ 1 per hour. He said that along with the offer of the DeepCic in China, many researchers are now innovative ways to create a low -priced AI model unlike the AI models prepared in billions of dollars like ChatjPT and others. He said that the biggest challenge in creating foundational models in India is linguistic diversity as well as internet scale data.
