Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Mauritius on his two -day visit. Officials said that during this visit starting on Tuesday, PM Modi will inaugurate more than 20 India-made projects, including capacity building to community-based infrastructure projects.

During this, PM Modi along with his counterpart Naveen Chandra Ramgulam will inaugurate the Civil Services College building. The construction of this building is completed at a cost of about 4.75 million dollars. An MoU was signed for this project in 2017.

Modi will also e-U-inaugurate 20 community projects and Area Health Center, which have been prepared at a cost of about Rs 7 crore. These community projects also include sports related infrastructure facilities.

Mauritius Deputy Foreign Minister Hambirajan Narasinghan said that he is feeling honored with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mauritius. Describing it as a ‘special occasion’, he said that all the 34 ministers will be present at the airport to welcome Prime Minister Modi. He said that PM Modi will be welcomed with pomp.

In an interview to ANI, Narasinghan recalled Prime Minister Modi’s 2015 visit to the Mauritius in 2015 and said that India is “a ideal” in many regions for his country. He said, ‘Modi Mauritius is coming after more than 10 years. His previous visit was in 2015.

Please tell that Prime Minister Modi left for Mauritius on a two -day state visit late on Monday night. He will participate as the chief guest at the National Day celebrations on 12 March. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the yatra is to “strengthen the permanent relations of India-Mauriti”.

What did PM Modi say

Prior to Monday, Prime Minister Modi said that the yatra will open a ‘a new and bright’ chapter in the relationship between the two countries. At the same time, Mauritius Foreign Minister Dhananjay Rampul told the news agency PTI that during Prime Minister Modi’s visit, a memorandum (MoU) will be signed on a line of credit on 12 March. In 2016, India gave Mauritius a special economic package of $ 353 million. These include Metro Express Project, Supreme Court Building, New Ent Hospital, Social Housing Project and Digital Tablet for school children.

Deep relations between Mauritius and India

Mauritius is one of the smallest countries in Africa Continent. About 70 percent of the total population of 12 lakhs here is of Indian origin. Before this visit, PM Modi has once visited Mauritius. PM Modi went to Mauritius in March 2015 on the occasion of National Day celebrations.
