At the age of 27 years and 111 days, Mathews became the second youngest and second fastest (88 innings) players to reach nine ODI centuries.

Mathews continued the fight till the end. He shared a 30 -run partnership with Alia Elene. But his team lost by 11 runs. Spinner Abataha Maqsood dismissed Elene in the 47th over. Matthews remained unbeaten by scoring 114 runs in 113 balls.
