The name of the new Chief of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has been announced. Dr. V. Narayanan will be the new chief of ISRO. He died on 14 January at S. Will replace Somnath. This information has been given by issuing a notification on Tuesday (January 7).
ISRO’s eminent scientist Dr. V. Narayanan is currently the Director of Liquid Propulsion Systems Center (LPSC). In his career spanning nearly 4 decades, he has held many key positions within ISRO. Dr. Narayanan’s expertise is in rocket and spacecraft propulsion.
A major achievement of Dr. Narayanan is to work as the Project Director for the C25 Cryogenic Project of the GSLV Mk III Vehicle. Under his leadership the team successfully developed the C25 stage, a critical component of GSLV Mk III.
Made important contribution in many missions
Under the guidance of Dr. Narayanan, LPSC delivered 183 liquid propulsion systems and control power plants for various missions of ISRO. He supervised the construction of the PSLV second and fourth stages and also designed the control power plants for PSLV C57. He also contributed to the propulsion systems for Aditya Spacecraft, GSLV Mk-III missions, Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3.
Has been honored with many awards
ISRO scientist Dr. Narayanan has been honored with many awards and honors. These include silver medal from IIT Kharagpur, gold medal from Astronautical Society of India (ASI) and National Design Award from NDRF.
Somnath took command in 2022
Let us tell you that in January 2022, S. Somnath had taken over the command of ISRO Chief. His two-year term is going to end this month. Before becoming ISRO Chief, Somnath was the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) and Chief Scientist of ISRO. S., who was the director of VSSC based in Thiruvananthapuram. Somnath is the best rocket technologist and aerospace engineer of the country. Before VSSC S. Somnath has also been the director of Liquid Propulsion System Center (LPSC) located in Thiruvananthapuram.
