Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address in the Lok Sabha, said that Article 370 was an obstacle to the unity of the country, so we abolished it. During this he said that India’s democracy has been very prosperous. It is deeply rooted in our culture and tradition. India’s democracy has inspired the whole world. The Prime Minister said that India has made extraordinary achievements in 75 years. Democracy has given us the strength to overcome every challenge and move forward.
PM Modi said that India is very soon taking steps towards becoming the third largest economic power in the world. The biggest requirement for achieving this resolution is the unity of India. But I have to say with great sadness that after independence, due to distorted mentality or selfishness, the biggest attack was on the fundamental principle of unity of the country. We celebrate diversity, but people brought up in the mentality of slavery kept finding contradictions in diversity.
Prime Minister Modi said that efforts were being made to sow such poisonous seeds in diversity, which would hurt unity. Article 370 was becoming an obstacle to the unity of the country, so we abolished Article 370.
