Political politics is at its peak in the assembly elections in Delhi. There is an uproar over Arvind Kejriwal’s statement in which the Haryana government was accused of deliberately sent to poisonous water to kill the people here. After this statement, the politics of the polluted water of Yamuna and the drinking water crisis in Delhi has intensified. PM Narendra Modi also took a dig at the Delhi government of the Aam Aadmi Party for this statement.
Kejriwal has not only been summoned by the Election Commission but a case has also been registered against him in the police stations of Haryana. Meanwhile, there was a Zubai war between Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini and Delhi CM Atishi on this issue. Then Naib Singh showed Yamuna water by drinking water at a ghat in Delhi. Whereas the Aam Aadmi Party tried to surround the BJP by calling Saini’s way of drinking water wrong. In this way, at the last minute of Delhi elections, the poisonous water and drinking water crisis of Yamuna seems to be the main issues. The BJP feels how Arvind Kejriwal can accuse Haryana of conspiring to kill millions of people of Delhi. Rahul Gandhi is also challenging Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of poisonous water of Yamuna.
But Arvind Kejriwal also cannot be taken so lightly. His every step goes with a balanced strategy. If you understand that the Aam Aadmi Party is badly trapped by accusing Yamuna of deliberately making poisonous, then you are wrong. Arvind Kejriwal has become a well -known player of politics. Let’s see how?
1- Due to this dispute, two issues came under lime light clean water and Yamuna cleaning
Arvind Kejriwal has made the electoral atmosphere so heated by accusing Haryana of sending poisonous water so much that all the issues have become secondary only five days before the voting for the election. Discussion is only 2 talks, first the cleaning of Yamuna and the issue of drinking water in Delhi. All of them know that the Arvind Kejriwal government has disappointed the public expectations on both these issues. However, Arvind Kejriwal has been repeatedly saying that he could not fulfill his promises made to the public due to Kovid and then later going to jail. But now that both these problems have come in the line light, then obviously BJP will take advantage of it. The second thing is that till now BJP used to make this allegation against Arvind Kejriwal, but now the Congress has also come down against Arvind Kejriwal with loud noise. Rahul Gandhi is directly challenging Kejrawal to show him a dip in the Yamuna. It is obvious that when the Congress also mixes yes to the BJP, the people will feel that the Delhi government and the Aam Aadmi Party are lying.
2-Delhi government’s track record on issues
The claims of the cleaning of Yamuna have been opened long ago. Due to increasing pollution in the river, people have often been seen in the media spread on its surface. The main reason for increasing pollution in Yamuna is to fall without treatment without treatment. The Delhi government has failed to build sufficient number of sewage treatment plant (STP). A report in 2024 states that 21 out of the available 37 STPs are not working properly. 712 MGD (million gallons per day) sewage is produced in Delhi daily. Out of this, 184.9 MGD sewage is falling directly into the Yamuna without being treated. The sewer treatment which is going to Yamuna and is not according to the standard.
Similarly, the crisis of drinking water is also increasing every day. The public of Delhi is worried about clean water. The thirst of the people of Delhi is being quenched by tankers. Arvind Kejriwal himself has spoken that it is difficult to fight the tanker mafia. The 2023 economic survey of the Delhi government shows that every day 38.9 crore gallons from Yamuna, 25.3 crore gallons from the Ganges river and 22.1 crore gallons from the river Ravi-Vyas from Bhakhara-Nangal were available to Delhi. Apart from this, 9 crore gallons of water comes from wells, tubewells and ground water. This total figure for 2024 is of 96.9 crore gallons, but the recent report of the Delhi Jal Board said that the daily water supply in the capital is getting 96.9 crore gallons as against the requirement of 129 crore gallons per day. It is clear that the people of Delhi are not getting water according to the need of every day.
3-Why Kejriwal’s master stroke may be
In today’s era, Arvind Kejriwal is named in the category of most clever leaders among all the politicians in the opposition. If someone has been in the nose of the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party, then it is Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal first accused Haryana of sending poisonous water to Delhi, then challenged Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini to drink water. The Chief Minister of Haryana drank water, but the common man issued such a clip that it seems that it seems that Naib Singh insulted Yamuna. Not only this, Kejriwal was successful in proving that Yamuna water is really so poisonous, it cannot be drunk at least. Naib Singh Saini has actually taken the sip of Yamuna. But we all know that the water of Yamuna is not worth it so that it can be linked inside the neck.
There is also no two opinion in this that the water of Yamuna becomes more dirty by coming to Delhi. In the last 10 years, the water of Yamuna has been constantly poisonous. The work done by the government for cleaning Yamuna is like cumin in the camel’s mouth. Arvind Kejriwal has already accepted that his government has failed to clean the Yamuna and provide clean water to all. It is obvious that his supporters feel how true their leader is. If you come next time, this promise will also be fulfilled.
