There was a time when actors and actresses showed up at events in simple yet elegant outfits; now the red carpet has become a runway and is more like an unsaid fashion face-off between celebrities believes actress Ashita Dhawan, who is currently seen in Prem Leela on Dangal. Best known for her roles in shows like Bidaai, Ladies Special, and Nazar, Ashita revealed how it is stressful for her to see that the entertainment industry rely on physical presentation over other important things.

Speaking about the same, Ashita Dhawan said, “Presentation is extremely important no matter which field you are in, especially in the entertainment industry. But because of this, it has also become very stressful. These days, the fashion game has reached such extreme levels that sometimes, when I get invited to award functions, I skip attending unless I am receiving an award or presenting one. I feel like, ‘Why go through so much hassle?’ Earlier, things weren’t like this.”
“Now, it feels like a fashion war. Everyone is not just trying to look good but trying to outdo one another and look the best. I personally don’t follow this trend because I don’t understand it. I believe you should wear what makes you feel good, suits you, and what you can carry confidently. But yes, the pressure is definitely there, and because of that, I often avoid attending events. I think, ‘Let it be. I don’t want to deal with so much effort and drama,” she stated.
Ashita also confessed that she has never felt judged by anyone based on her looks, weight, or clothes, nor has she ever judged anyone on those criteria. She shared, “I never judge people based on their appearance—whether it’s their height, weight, or what they’re wearing. I believe in appreciating people for who they are rather than focusing on superficial things.For me, it’s simple: wear whatever you like, but if your face carries a 440-watt smile, no one will even notice anything else. That’s how I look at things differently.”
The actress revealed that she believes in appreciating people and acknowledging the effort they put in, whether they’re dressed up or not. “Everyone has their reasons and situations. Sometimes you’re too busy, working, or caught up with things, and you end up going somewhere last minute without getting the chance to dress up. In such cases, all you need is confidence and a genuine smile to carry yourself,” she continued.
Concluding her point, Ashita added, “There’s no point in wasting time judging others. Not everyone is even qualified to judge someone else. It’s not like anyone studied a ‘law of judging people’ to decide who’s right or wrong. Instead, we should focus on our own positivity and energy”.
