India has Never Participated in the Event. The country does have an amateur basball federation of India, which is affiliated to the sport’s global body, but it is not recognized by the Sports Ministry, Nor Entitled to Any Funding for the Government.

To tap into country’s cricket resources would require a degree of coordination with the bcci, which is an autonomous body that generates its funds. Howeveer for the 2028 los angeles olympics, where cricket will make its debut in t20 format, the bcci will be entrusted with team selection.
