A special court in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday sentenced a person to life imprisonment in the case of rape and murder of a five -year -old girl. This incident took place in the year 2020. Special district government lawyer Sant Pratap Singh said that under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses, the special court has also imposed a fine of Rs 60 thousand on the convict Mohammad Rais.
According to the information, on the night of 22 February 2020, the victim was sleeping with her parents in the area under Dargah Sharif police station. This suddenly went missing. The next morning his body was found in a sack, on which several stabs were made with a knife. Following the complaint of the victim’s father, the police registered a case against the unknown person under the Indian Justice Code and the Poxo Act.
Later, the involvement of accused Mohammad Rais was found in the investigation. After this, the police arrested him. The district government lawyer said that on March 8, 2020, a charge sheet was filed against him under various sections of the IPC and Poxo Act. Special Additional Sessions Judge (Poxo) Deep Kant Mani sentenced Mohammad Raees to life imprisonment.
The court said that in the event of not paying a fine of 60 thousand rupees, the culprit will be sentenced to three months additional imprisonment. The government lawyer said that the court further directed that the entire amount of the fine should be given to the victim’s mother as compensation. The family members of the victim have expressed satisfaction with this decision of the special court. The victim’s father says that he had asked for a death sentence for the criminal.
Let us tell you that last month, seven years ago in Bahraich, a person was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of rape and murder of a 16 -year -old girl. The court also imposed a fine of one lakh rupees on the accused. Special Additional Sessions Judge (Poxo Act) Deep Kant Mani directed that the penalty paid by Dukhiram Kashyap should be given to the victim’s mother.
Special district government lawyer Sant Pratap Singh had told that this incident took place on February 25, 2018 in a village under Fakharpur police station Seema. Dukhiram Kashyap had strangled the girl with a knife after the rape. The blood -soaked body of the girl was found in the tin shed, where the buffaloes of the family were tied. The victim’s family had said that Duhiram had sexually assaulted the girl a few days before the murder.
