BCCI fined 12 lakhs on Delhi Capitals captain Akshar Patel

Why Akshar Patel was fined
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has fined Delhi Capitals captain Akshar Patel for violating the IPL code of conduct. The letter has been fined Rs 12 lakh due to a slow over rate in the match. The IPL media release said, “Since it was the first crime of this session of his team under Article 2.22 of the IPL code of conduct, which is related to minimum over-rate offenses, Patel has been fined Rs 12 lakh.”
DC won all four matches of this season before the match against Mumbai Indians. After losing a close match to Mumbai Indians, the Delhi Capitals slipped to second place in the points table, while the Gujarat Titans overtook him due to the better net run rate with eight points. After MI scored 205 runs in 20 overs, DC looked in a good position chasing a target of 206 runs. At one time he was on 135 runs for 2 wickets. But after Karun Nair was dismissed for 89, DC’s batting stumbled.
The middle order flopped completely. Leg spinner Karn Sharma took three wickets and Mitchell Santner took two wickets. The hosts were all out for 193 runs in 19 overs. Mumbai Indians reached seventh position in the points table after registering their second win in six matches.
