New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah’s Indian Premier League (IPL) is not likely to play in the early matches of 2025 as this star fast bowler of Mumbai Indians is still recovering from lower back injury. January Bumrah is out of competitive cricket. Bumrah was injured on the second day of the fifth and final Test match played in Sydney in January against Australia and he could not bowl in the second innings. Australia won by six wickets in that match. Bumrah took 32 wickets while performing brilliantly in this series played for the Border Gavaskar Trophy but after that he could not play any match. Due to injury, he could not even participate in the ICC Champions Trophy in which the Indian team became the champion. This fast bowler was selected in the initial team for the Champions Trophy but was not kept in the final team for not getting fitness.

In one thread, he told PTI, “The progress of his injury is good, but given the India’s Test series against England in June, it would be better to give him some more time to achieve full fitness at this stage.” The IPL will be played from 22 March to 25 May.

It has also been discovered that Physio of the BCCI Center of Excellence has not set a special time limit for him to return to competitive cricket, even though Bumrah is continuously increasing his charge under nets and matches like matches.

Bumrah can join Mumbai Indians in the first week of April

Bumrah is not able to play in the early stages of IPL for Mumbai Indians.
