The Brutalist is a powerful post-war drama directed by Brady Corbet, is all set to hit the theaters on January 24, 2025. The film has emerged as the evening’s biggest winner, claiming three prestigious awards. The film took home the coveted Best Motion Picture – Drama award, while its compelling narrative about architect László Toth’s journey in post-war America resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike having Adrien Brody win the Best Male Actor – Drama award. Brady Corbet winner of the Silver Lion for Best Director at the 2024 Venice Film Festival for (Vox Lux, The Childhood of a Leader), wins the Best Director award for The Brutalist, adding to the film’s impressive haul.
Speaking of his work in The BrutalistBrady Corbet shared, “Depicting architecture on screen is difficult because it’s in-animate, and shooting in-animate objects has never been easy for me — instead of just presenting architecture in the movie, the challenge for us was representing it,” he explained. “The Brutalist is both outsized and imposing but it’s also quite austere, and I think the score plays a crucial role in conveying the film’s central themes.” He further adds “The film is about many things, including building a building, but it’s also a movie about making a movie. Architecture and filmmaking have a lot in common because it takes roughly the same amount of people to construct a building or make a movie. The Brutalist for me was a way of talking about the more bureaucratic aspect of the artistic process.”
While Adrien Brody winner of the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2003 and now winner of Golden Globe Best Male Actor – Drama shared, “I saw The Brutalist as a story of quiet perseverance and the need to strive for excellence. Even when the ground has been ripped out from beneath you.”

Chu and starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, won the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award, celebrating its success in bringing the beloved Broadway musical to the big screen. These victories highlight Universal Pictures’ commitment to delivering diverse, high-quality storytelling that resonates globally.
