There has been a ruckus after the suicide of a Nepali student in the hostel of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. After this incident, a case of forcibly taking out the Nepali students performing on the University Campus has come to light. As soon as the matter came to the notice, Nepal Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has sent two officers of the embassy to Odisha. After their intervention, the students have got some relief.

Nepal Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli wrote on Facebook, “It has come to our notice through media and social media that a Nepali student has died in KIIT University hostel in Odisha. Nepali students have been forcibly evacuated. But we are working through diplomatic channels. After his intervention, KIIT has pulled back its steps.

The KIIT administration has appealed to Nepali students to return to the hostel. A statement said on his behalf, “All our Nepali students are appealed to return the campus and resume classes.” In a post on X, Prime Minister Oli said, “Our embassy in New Delhi has sent two officers to consult the affected Nepali students in Odisha. Our officers will go and talk to those students.”

The registrar of KIIT said that a third year Nepali student of B-Tech committed suicide in the hostel on Sunday. It is suspected that the student had a love affair with another student studying in KIIT. This incident has happened due to a dispute over something between them. The police was immediately informed about this. Police reached the spot and took the body in its possession. The parents of the deceased student have been informed about this.

DCP Pinak Mishra of Bhubaneswar said, “We have registered a case at Infosity Police Station based on the allegation of abetment of suicide by a student. The accused student is in police custody. He is being questioned. The mobile phone of the deceased student is being questioned. , Laptops and other gadgets have been confiscated.

The incident caught further when the cousin of the deceased lodged a complaint at the Infosity Police Station in Bhubaneswar that his sister hanged himself in his hostel room on Sunday. He claimed that a university student was blackmailing his sister. The deceased has been identified as Nature Lamsal. After this, Nepali students became furious. He started demonstrations demanding justice.

After this, KIIT threw many Nepali students out of the hostel. Without making any arrangements for his visit, he was removed at Cuttack railway station. The students there claimed, “We do not have money to buy food, water or train tickets.” A student said, “We have been asked to vacate the hostel room. We were forcibly removed here. We had to take the exam on February 28. We were demonstrating for the deceased student. We do not know what their intentions are, but we were forced to go. There is no fixed schedule of the train. I do not even have money. We have not even got food. ”

KIIT said, “In view of the situation, Nepali students were sent to their homes. Earlier, the administration tried his best, so that the situation could be handled in a peaceful manner. But even after all the efforts, some protesting officers will be ready to listen to the matter. There were no disruption of the law and order.
