The film is set to premiere in Indian theaters on January 3, 2025, following its global debut.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Lee Seok-jun, RM: Right People, Wrong Place takes audiences on an immersive eight-month journey into RM’s creative process. The music documentary explores the duality of his existence—balancing life as a global superstar with his identity as Kim Namjoon, a deeply introspective artist. Through candid reflections, personal struggles, and creative triumphs, the film delves into themes of fame, artistry, and the search for authenticity.
“I’d try to see to what extent I could be truly honest with myself as RM, or as Kim Namjoon,” said Leader of 21st century pop icons BTS, solo artist RM aka Kim Namjoon as he wants to explore ‘who is he ‘Really?’ In search of the answer, he bares the unfamiliar feelings and stories in his second solo album ‘Right Place, Wrong Person’. “For the first time in a while, I feel like I’m existing as myself”. Inspired by these themes, the artist embodies deeply personal stories of feeling out of place and seeking connection—a sentiment that resonates universally.
The documentary, officially invited to the 29th Busan International Film Festival, captivated audiences during its premiere in the prestigious Open Cinema section. It offers a vivid blend of introspection and creativity, complemented by stunning visuals and RM’s unique musical vision.
