US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced the new tariff policy. He announced to impose recipes on business partner countries. Trump said, “They charge tax and tariff from us, we will also impose equal tax and tariff on them.” During this, he said that India is one of the most tariffs in the world.
Talking to reporters at a press conference held at the White House, Trump said about the tariff, ‘Traditionally, India is at the top of this group. There are some small countries that actually put more tariffs but India collects tremendous tariffs.
Giving the example of Harley Davidson, Trump said, ‘Taxes and tariffs were so much in India that Harley Davidson could not sell his motorcycles. To avoid this, the company had to set up a factory in India. He said, ‘People can do this here too. Companies can manufacture products such as medical equipment, automobiles, chips and semiconductors by setting up factory in the US.
On the meeting of PM Modi and Allen Musk, Trump said, ‘I think he (Musk) wants to do business in India, but it is very difficult to do business in India, because there are very much tariffs. They put the highest tariff in the world. Trump indicated that Alan Musk must have met PM Modi to carry forward his business interests in India.
