Due to misunderstanding, a situation of tension arose for some time in Nagpur Central Assembly constituency of Nagpur in Maharashtra. The reason behind this was that after the voting process was over, the zonal officer had gone out of his car to do some Xerox work. Then some people noticed the vehicle in which EVMs were kept. After this, political party workers immediately stopped the vehicle and started sloganeering. During this time, information about stones being pelted on the vehicle has also come to light.

Seeing the tension on the spot, the zonal officer immediately left the place with the vehicle. These workers went to the police station and complained about this. After this incident, there was a situation of tension for some time, but when the EVM machines were checked, the EVM machines were still at the booth. Seeing that the zonal officer had gone out in the same vehicle in which the spare machine was kept, people suspected that it was the original EVM machine.

What did the police officer tell?

Nagpur’s Joint CP N Tomboli said that as soon as the voting process was completed, a zonal officer had gone to the Xerox center for some work in the Central Assembly constituency. The vehicle in which he went also had a spare EVM machine. All the original EVMs were at the booth itself, when people saw that a zonal officer had an EVM machine in his car, they thought it was original.

After this he stopped the officer and there was a clash between them. They thought that the EVM was going out. In the fight between the two, the zonal officer drove away. After the arrival of the zonal officer, action will be taken after taking his statement.
