Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Andy Flower said that Virat Kohli is fine despite a finger injury during fielding against Gujarat Titans (GT) and there is nothing to worry. While chasing the target of 170 runs by GT, Kohli tried to stop a four in the 12th over, but the ball hit his finger and crossed the boundary line. Kohli looked upset due to pain, after which the team’s physio came on the ground to treat him. However, Kohli went out of the ground, but his finger remained pain. GT won the match by eight wickets. After the match, Andy Flower said, “Virat is absolutely fine, there is nothing to worry.” RCB did not start well in this match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj bowled brilliantly against his old team and took three wickets for 19 runs. Siraj was released by RCB after being kept in the team for seven years. Flower said, ‘The toss was very important because there was dew on the field. The ball was coming a little in the first innings. It was usually not like Chinnaswamy’s pitch, where the ball comes fast. But this did not affect the result, Gujarat Titans played better than us and Siraj bowled well.

He further said, ‘Siraj put a spectacular spell with the new ball. His line and length were very good and attacked the stumps continuously. We all like him very much and know his ability. We have made a good auction this time and formed a balanced team. I wish Siraj ahead for further. Flower also praised Liam Livingstone’s innings of 54 runs off 40 balls. Apart from this, RCB reached 169/8 from the innings of Jitesh Sharma (33 runs) and Tim David (32 runs), but it was not enough to win.

He said, ‘We lost some wickets in the powerplay to play aggressively, which was a big shock for us. Usually, if you lose wickets in powerplay then it becomes difficult. But our team struggled. Tim David, Jitesh and Livingstone batted well and gave us a score that we could compete. RCB is currently captaining Silver Patidar. The team will now go to Mumbai after a four -day break, where on 7 April it will play a match against Mumbai Indians captained by Hardik Pandya at Wankhede Stadium.
