The Bandra police filed their reply on Friday on the bail plea of the accused who entered the house of actor Saif Ali Khan and attacked him. The police told the court that there is strong evidence against the accused and a charge sheet will be filed soon.
Accused Shariful Islam Shahzad filed a bail plea through Advocate Ajay Gawli claiming that the FIR lodged against him was false. However, the police strongly opposed the petition and told the court that the accused is a Bangladeshi citizen and had illegally entered India. The police suspect that he may run to Bangladesh on getting bail and may carry out crime again. The police also said that on getting bail, he can affect the witnesses and avoid the case.
Police has a long list of evidence
Police told the court that in the report received from Forensic Science Lab (FSL), Kalina, the footprint from the crime site, the broken knife from the back of Saif Ali Khan, a piece of knife fell on the spot and the part of the recovered part of the accused match each other. Apart from this, in CCTV footage, the accused has been seen clearly while committing crime and running away. These footage was sent to the forensic lab for the facial recognition test, whose report has been received by the police.
