Australian captain Pat Cummins Pre-match press conference: The Border-Gavaskar series starts in Perth from Friday (22 November). Australia will be eyeing revenge for the defeat in the last two series. Australian captain Pat Cummins addressed the press conference before the match. He said that the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against arch-rival India is going to be fierce. During this, he admitted that there is more pressure on his team in BGT. Cummins said in the press conference, ‘Border-Gavaskar Trophy is always very challenging. The five-Test series will be even more competitive. The Australian captain admitted that there will be pressure on his team which has lost the last four Test series to India.
He said, ‘There is always pressure while playing on home soil, the Indian team is very talented and it will be a good challenge, but we are not thinking too far ahead.’ He said, ‘It would be great to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian team is very good, but our preparation is also solid.
Cummins also said that new batsman Nathan McSweeney will have to show his natural game instead of copying David Warner. Warner retired from international cricket earlier this year.
