The Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi issued a circular for admission of EWS children. Warnings were given to take action on schools that do not accept the new circular. The income limit for the EWS category was kept at Rs 5 lakh annually. Computerized draw of lots of the entire process will be through a stand alone computer in which there will be no human interference. In total, 2.5 lakh applications have been received, out of which 38 thousand students will be admitted in EWS category.

This time a standard operating procedure i.e. SOP was also kept for admission. Instead of schools, the certificate will be conducted with the help of its zonal office instead of schools. Because of this, no school will be able to refuse any student to enroll in the EWS category. The first time the entire process will be shown on the big TV screen just outside the Directorate of Education. The Education Minister claims that any of those who are 2.5 lakh applicants can come and see this whole process on a big screen.

The Directorate of Education has warned that some individuals, organizations or organizations can claim that they can help in this admission process. Such claims are completely misleading.
