The process of harassing Hindus continues in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the issue of attack on Hindus in Bangladesh has been raised in the British Parliament. Concern was expressed in the UK Parliament that not only Hindus are being targeted in Bangladesh but religious leaders are also being arrested.

Labor MP Barry Gardiner raised a question in the House of Commons (British MP) on 2 December. In response, Foreign Office Minister in charge of Indo-Pacific Catherine West said, ‘During her visit to Bangladesh last month, the interim government there had assured that help was being provided to minority communities.’

‘Be vocal in support of minority’

Foreign Office Minister Catherine West further said, ‘Britain was one of the first countries to receive ministerial support. We reached Dhaka to talk to Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus and were ‘vocal’ in support of minorities.

The issue of Chinmoy Prabhu was also discussed

Catherine West said, ‘We are aware of India’s concern after the arrest of Hindu leader Chinmoy Prabhu on charges of treason. Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) desk is closely monitoring these developments.

Talks will be held with the interim government

Britain’s Foreign Office minister said, ‘The UK government will continue to monitor the situation, including seeking representation from this House. The importance of freedom of religion or belief as it affects the Hindu community will be discussed with the interim government of Bangladesh.

Situation worsened due to arrest of Chinmay Prabhu

Let us tell you that tension between India and Bangladesh has been going on since August 5. At that time, ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had fled to India. After this, the situation has worsened further after the arrest of ISKCON’s Chinmoy Prabhu last week.
