The central government has decided to build a memorial in the national capital in memory of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. This information was given by the Union Home Ministry. Issuing a press release, the Home Ministry said that on Friday morning the government received a request from the Congress Party President to allot space for the memorial of former Prime Minister late Dr. Manmohan Singh. Soon after the cabinet meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah told the family of Congress President Kharge and late Dr. Manmohan Singh that the government will allot space for the memorial. In the meantime the cremation and other formalities can be completed, as a trust has to be formed and space has to be allotted for it.

Dr Manmohan Singh, who headed the Congress-led UPA government and was known for economic reforms, died on Thursday at the age of 92. He led the country for 10 years as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014.

Congress made these allegations
Congress on Friday alleged that not deciding the place for Manmohan Singh’s funeral and memorial is a deliberate insult to the country’s first Sikh Prime Minister. Congress raised this issue when the Union Home Ministry said in its statement that the last rites of Manmohan Singh will be performed with full state honors at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi on Saturday at 11:45 am.

He wrote, “This morning the Congress President wrote a letter to the Prime Minister proposing that Dr. Manmohan Singh be cremated at a place where a memorial can be built to honor his legacy.” Raising questions, Jairam Ramesh said, “The people of our country are unable to understand why the Government of India is not providing any place for the funeral and memorial of Dr. Manmohan Singh in keeping with his global stature, outstanding achievements and decades of service to the nation.” Couldn’t decide.”
