He did not think that IPL would not work, but when it started running, everyone joined it. Modi said- He was a member of the board, hence he was my biggest opponent. I opposed him.

He said- He did many things. Like- umpire fixing and I accused him of this. He used to change umpires and I didn’t think two things about it. But then I realized that he was appointing Chennai umpire in Chennai matches, it was a big deal for me. This is fixing, so when I tried to expose him he completely turned against me. He said that the former ICC chairman was ready to rope in the all-rounder and it was an open secret. He said- We gave Flintoff to Srinivasan by rigging. Yes, we did that. It doesn’t have any message. Every team knew about it. Srinivasan was not allowing IPL to happen. He had become a thorn in our side. Modi further said- Yes, we told everyone not to bid for Flintoff. He said- When you are trying to organize an event like IPL, and I have done it single-handedly, you need to overcome every obstacle and do what is big for the game.
