‘Chennai Super Kings owner used to fix umpires, rigged IPL auction…’ Serious allegations by Lalit Modi – former IPL chairman Lalit Modi accuses CSK owner N Srinivasan of fixing umpires rigging auction andrew flintoff
He said- He did many things. Like- umpire fixing and I accused him of this. He used to change umpires and I didn’t think two things about it. But then I realized that he was appointing Chennai umpire in Chennai matches, it was a big deal for me. This is fixing, so when I tried to expose him he completely turned against me. Modi also accused Srinivasan of auction fixing. He gave the example of CSK buying English international Andrew Flintoff.
He said that the former ICC chairman was ready to rope in the all-rounder and it was an open secret. He said- We gave Flintoff to Srinivasan by rigging. Yes, we did that. It doesn’t have any message. Every team knew about it. Srinivasan was not allowing IPL to happen. He had become a thorn in our side. Modi further said- Yes, we told everyone not to bid for Flintoff. He said- When you are trying to organize an event like IPL, and I have done it single-handedly, you need to overcome every obstacle and do what is big for the game.
