In China, youth have become disillusioned with marriage. Between 2013 and 2024, the rate of weddings has been reduced to less than 50%. The youth feel that marriage is expensive work and this increases the burden on the pocket. Work pressure, fear of unemployment and rising inflation are the main reasons. The government is promoting weddings by giving cash reward, but the youth are not ready. Conversely, the market of weddings in India is constantly increasing and youth are also taking weddings with loans.
