After tariff announcements by the US, there is upheaval in the global markets. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump denied the possibility of banning the countries on countries during talks with Israeli PM. He also revealed that many countries are talking to us on agreement.
During a bilateral meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday (local time), Trump said, “We are not considering it.” He emphasized that the US will continue to make fair compromises with other countries. Many countries are talking with us on agreement and these agreements will be fair.
Warning given to China
He criticized China for increasing the tariff on the US and said, ‘If the tariff is not removed till 12 o’clock tomorrow, we will put 50 percent more tariffs than the tariff already imposed. Due to the people sitting in the White House, they have become a rich country. Earlier, Beijing announced a 34 percent counter -tariff hike on the US.
Trump reiterated that his approach focused on removing business imbalance and he cited heavy debt on America.
The US President said, ‘I have very good relations with President Xi Jingping. I hope the relationship will remain like this. I respect China very much, but they cannot do it. We will try only once on this and no other President is going to do so. Let me tell you it is an honor to do so, because we are ruined. You know what he has done with our system, we have a loan of 36 trillion dollars. So we will talk to China. We will talk to many different countries.
‘There will be nothing to do with us’
He said, ‘We will do fair and good deals with every country and if it does not, then we will have nothing to do with them.’
Trump also targeted the European Union, criticized its trade policies and described the European Union as an integrated group formed to create a competitive lead against the US.
European Union also targeted
Trump said, ‘The European Union has been very strict in the last few years. It was formed to harm America in trade. It was formed in association with all the countries of Europe. I estimate that most of them, not all, but most of them worked together to create a monopoly situation to create a unified force against the United States trade … The European Union has been very bad for us. They do not take our cars like Japan. They do not take our agricultural products. They are sending millions of cars to America, but we did not sell a single car to the European Union or elsewhere.
Meanwhile, European Union President Ursula von Der Leyen said that the European Union has offered zero-for-zero tariffs on industrial goods to America.
