Strong earthquake tremors have been felt in Papua New Guinea on Saturday. The European-Mediterian Ceemological Center (EMSC) said on Saturday that a 7.1 magnitude earthquake occurred on the coast of New Britain in Papua New Guinea. At present, there is no notice of any damage, but the earthquake caused panic among the people.

The EMSC stated that the earthquake depth was 49 kilometers (30.45 mi) and the American tsunami warning center issued a tsunami warning.

Earlier on Friday evening, two earthquake tremors were felt in western Nepal at a interval of three minutes, causing a stir in the entire area.

According to the National Center for Sisamology, an earthquake of 5.2 magnitude occurred in Jajarkot district at 8:07 pm, soon after which a second blow of 5.5 magnitude was felt at 8:10 pm. The center of both earthquakes was in the water area Jajarkot, which is located about 525 km west of Kathmandu. Earthquake tremors were felt in Nepal as well as in North India.
