EXCLUSIVE: Avika Gor discusses the importance of TV premieres in OTT era; says, “It reaches a lot more eyeballs than it could otherwise”

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood HungamaAvika Gor discussed that despite the rapid growth of digital platforms, TV continues to play a key role in reaching wider audiences, especially in the regional circuits. She said, “It is very important because in a lot of cities a lot of people are still not very used to the OTT idea and Star Gold definitely is so important for movies. There are so many memories for me while growing up watching films on Star Gold. Every film premiere that happens there, it’s like a big tick for the film as well. We are premiering on Star Gold. And I think that tag itself is a big deal, and it is important. It reaches a lot of more eyeballs than it could otherwise.”

Avika reflected on her career, particularly her journey as a child actor in the iconic TV show Balika Vadhu. Playing the role of Anandi, Avika became a household name at a young age. She shared how her time on Balika Vadhu was not only transformative for her as an actor but also a significant influence on her personal growth.

Avika stated, “I think that particular show and the love that I received from the show has made me a better human today. I do realize the importance of getting so much attention. I do realize the importance of keeping myself grounded, and these are the things that have helped me kind of become the person I am today. I really appreciate and acknowledge that people have loved me over the years, and I cannot take that for granted. I do see this as a big responsibility to not let them down. And I do see this as a big responsibility to make sure that whatever projects I do here on after Balika are supposed to be of a level that people understand why I have picked, and it cannot just be something random.”

She added, “It’s a big deal at the end of the day, because even now, it’s been, almost 15 years, and people still remember and talk about that. It’s a very unique thing that can happen to an actor, and it’s a very rare thing that an actor can, you know, even dream of and it’s been happening in my life, and I’m living it. So, I understand people can kill or die to live a life that I live, and it’s important for me to really stay grounded and be full of gratitude.”
