The second season of Bandish Bandits 2 started streaming on Amazon Prime Video yesterday. The series is the sequel to Bandish Bandits directed by acclaimed director Anand Tiwari. The show has been creating a buzz for its stellar cast. This includes, Shreya Chaudhary, Ritwik Bhowmik, Divya Dutta, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Yashaswini Dayama, Atul Kulkarni, Rohan Gurbaxani, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Aaliyah Qureshi, among others.
EXCLUSIVE: “Real singers and musicians were cast for Bandish Bandits 2”, reveals casting director Kashish Arora
Talking about how the casting for this season was done and how real musicians and singers were chosen as actors, the show’s casting director Kashish Arora said exclusively, “The process of casting for this project was truly special. We cast for over 120 roles including, primary and secondary. There were over 1000 auditions from which each character was carefully picked. The aim was to pick real musicians or singers for the characters requiring the musician characteristics. In the process of finding real musicians it got so many fresh faces to the screen and got them their screen debut through the show, be it like Krishna, Sanchi, Anish Bhagat , Samad Khan, Karan, Chitra Deshmukh in the primary parts. The rest of the casting for other primary parts was also done with a motive to look at actors who have knowledge of music, be it like Aaliyah Qureshi (actor + singer), Yashaswini Dayama (actor + singer), Paresh Pahuja (actor + singer ) and several newer characters who were cast in season 2 were either played by musicians or singers.”
Hailing from Amritsar, Kashish Arora, who started his promising agency, Kashish Arora Casting in 2021 is known for his credible body of work with some of the biggest and critically acclaimed projects to his credit. In a span of three years, he has done casting for more than hundred advertisements and has a good pipeline of projects where he’s looking for young faces as well as working with the biggest of the industry.
With his contribution to what we see on screen today, the show is a musical treat with a stellar cast. The show also has a special appearance by Arjun Rampal.
