Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has allocated departments to his Council of Ministers. In which Fadnavis has kept the important Home Department with himself. An official statement said that CM Fadnavis will also handle the Department of Energy (except Renewable Energy), Law and Judiciary, General Administration Department and Information and Publicity Department.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been allotted the Urban Development, Housing and Public Works Department (Public Enterprises). While Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has got Finance and Planning, State Excise.

Before the start of the assembly session in Maharashtra, 39 ministers took oath on 15 December, while Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took oath on 5 December. The grand alliance of BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena had won 230 out of 288 seats in the assembly elections held on November 20.
