Family angry over the removal of Paramveer Chakra winner’s name from school gate, tanks were destroyed in Indo -Pak war – Ghazipur Param Vir Chakra Abdul Hamid School Name Removal LCLNT

The family of Paramveer Chakra winner Shaheed Abdul Hameed has expressed strong resentment over the removal of his name from the main gate of a primary school in Ghazipur. This is the same school where he did his early education. In fact, this school located in Dhamupur village of the district was recently dyed and painted, after which the school was named ‘PM Shri Composite School’. Earlier, ‘Shaheed Hameed Vidyalaya’ was written at the entrance of this school, which was removed.
Family objected
Abdul Hameed’s grandson, Jamil Ahmed, said that the school was re -painted four days ago, but when he saw that his grandfather’s name had been removed from the school gate, he objected to it. When this was talked to the school’s Principal Ajay Kushwaha about this, he asked him to contact Basic Education Officer Hemant Rao.
The family says that the officer told him that Abdul Hameed’s name is written on the outer wall of the school, but not at the main gate. The disgruntled family lodged another complaint on Saturday and demanded to write the name of the martyr at the main gate again.
However, officer Hemant Rao said that the name of Shaheed Abdul Hameed will soon be written again at the main gate of the school. At the moment, it is inscribed on the outer wall of the school.
Tales of Abdul Hameed’s valor
In the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war, Patton tanks given by the US to Pakistan were considered invincible. But Abdul Hameed, showing his bravery, destroyed three Patton tanks alone, causing the enemy army to retreat.
He was posthumously awarded the Paramveer Chakra for his valor, which was obtained from the President by his wife Rasulan Bibi.
The family has demanded that the name of the martyr be again mentioned at the main entrance of the school, so that the coming generations can remember their valor.
