The notorious paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who was fighting against the army in Sudan, attacked a market in Omdurman city. A statement filed by the Ministry of Health said that the Rapid Support Forces attacked the Sabreen Market on Saturday, killing 54 people and injured at least 158 people.
According to the news of the news agency, after the incident, the government spokesperson Khalid al-Alisir strongly condemned the attack and said that many women and children were included in the casualties. He said that private and public properties have suffered heavy losses due to this attack. He described this attack as a cruel act against humanity and said that this is a severe violation of international human law.
Conflict continues for almost two years
There has been a struggle going on in Sudan for almost two years. The struggle began in April 2023 when tension was transformed into a fight between the army and RSF leaders, in which thousands of people lost their lives. In the last two years, more than 28 thousand people have been killed in Sudan so far, while millions of people have become destitute.
