Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, is preparing to hold general elections in the country. It is being told that Bangladesh may have general elections in the end of this year.
The top leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party said that Bangladesh Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus on Monday assured former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s party that his interim government was preparing to hold general elections by December.
BNP general secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told the media after a meeting with the interim government chief, “He (Yunus) told us that he is working to hold elections till December”.
He said, ‘We are appealing to the government to hold elections again and again. We have once again put pressure on them in this case. By completing the minimum reforms, by joining the discussion with the reform commissions and reaching the consensus, we believe that elections can be held faster.

Alamgir also criticized the government on recent incidents across the country, including the incident of paddy market. Where the residence of Bangladesh founder Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was demolished by the mob.
He said, ‘The government cannot escape the responsibility of these incidents. We have seen that such incidents have taken place in front of law enforcement and other government agencies. As a result of these incidents, the law and order situation has deteriorated to a great extent ‘
Alamgir attended a meeting of one and a half hours along with the chief advisor along with Salauddin Ahmed and Major (retired) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, members of the party’s standing committee.
Alamgir said that the delegation expressed concern over the rising prices of essential things. Because this is one of the major failures of this government. However, the government said that they are working to control it.

The BNP leader said that the government has recently started a security operation called ‘Devil Hunt’, in which no innocent person should be hunted. Because we have seen this in the past. Alamgir also said that BNP will not accept the election of any local government before the national election in any way.
