A fight broke out between some people on the beach of Goa in the early hours of Tuesday, in which a tourist died. This fight took place in a hut. People from one side were drunk at that time. A 30-year-old tourist from Andhra Pradesh died in this fight.
A 23-year-old man working at a hut has been arrested in connection with the incident, which took place in Calangute area of North Goa district, Goa Police told PTI. Further investigation is ongoing.
A senior Goa police officer further said that a group of drunk tourists asked for food at the hut, even though the owner of the hut had told them that the kitchen was closed. He told that after this a tourist started using abusive language against a woman working in the hut and the argument turned into a scuffle.
The police officer said that a person working in the hut hit tourist Ravi Teja on the head with a wooden stick. Due to which the person died on the spot. Later, Calangute police arrested hut worker Kamal Sonar, a resident of Nepal.
The police officer said that the search is on for the hut owner and two other people. He said that the police have registered a case of murder against the accused. Before the New Year celebrations, there is a huge crowd of tourists in Goa.
