Gurugram Police on Friday said that the death of radio jockey Simran Singh is a case of suicide and further investigation has been closed. The family of the popular social media influencer has not filed any complaint or raised any suspicions.

However, many social media users claiming to be his fans refused to believe the police findings and described his death as ‘murder’ on Instagram. Police said that the investigation into the case has been closed.

Post mortem report confirms hanging

A senior investigating officer confirmed that the post-mortem report listed the cause of death as ‘hanging’ and it was only a case of suicide. He said that the family of the deceased has not filed any complaint against anyone, hence there is no reason for suspicion.

The dead body was found from Sector 47 of Gurugram.

Commenting on this, social media users have expressed apprehension that he might have been murdered. Simran Singh’s body was found hanging in a room of her rented house in Sector 47, Gurugram on Wednesday night.

Simran was originally from Jammu. She lived in a rented flat with her friend in Gurugram. She had earlier been a radio jockey. Simran had more than 6 lakh followers on Instagram. Simran had made her mark through freelance work.

‘Simran was worried for some time’

Family members said that Simran was troubled for some time, due to which she took this step. Action was taken on the basis of written complaint of the family members. At present no case has been registered in this regard. The family has neither accused anyone nor made any complaint against anyone. Police have not found any suicide note from Simran’s flat.
