The second consignment of illegal immigrants who were deals with America have reached Amritsar on Saturday night. An Indian exiled man in an American military aircraft claimed that during the entire journey, he had chains and handcuffs in his hands. This claim has been made just a week after the incident, when the first batch of deported people had made similar complaints, after which there was a lot of uproar in the country. Even in Parliament, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had to respond in this matter.
Punjab’s highest number of 65 people
Daljit Singh, a resident of Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, was among the 120 illegal Indian migrants who were on the C-17 American military aircraft. The aircraft landed in Amritsar at around 11.35 pm on Saturday night after a delay of 90 minutes. The second group of deported people includes 65 from Punjab, 33 from Haryana, eight from Gujarat, besides residents of Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra. According to PTI, most of them are between 18 and 30 years old.

Talking to reporters in Hoshiarpur, Daljit Singh also said that he was taken to America by Danki route, which is an illegal and dangerous journey adopted by migrants to enter America. Meanwhile, his wife claimed that a travel agency cheated her husband and promised to be taken to America by flight, instead of Daljit was taken from Danki Route.

He also alleged that a person from the village had introduced Daljeet to the travel agent. Immediately after landing Amritsar, people deported from America were investigated, only then they were allowed to go to their house on Sunday morning. Punjab and Haryana governments had arranged for special visit for the exile from both states. Meanwhile, a third aircraft is expected to land in Amritsar on Sunday with 157 deports. However, no immediate information has been given about the time of arrival.
The first American aircraft landed in Amritsar on February 5, which was the first time that Indian illegal migrants were sent back home. This was part of the mission of sending illegal foreigners back on the first day of his tenure on January 20 by President Donald Trump. However, the exiled people claimed that their hands and feet were opened only after the aircraft landed in Amritsar.
There was an uproar over handcuffs
Jaspal Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, who came in the first flight, told PTI, ‘We felt that we were being taken to another camp. Then a police officer told us that we are being taken to India. We were handcuffed and chains were tied to our feet, they were opened at Amritsar Airport. On 6 February, the US Border Patrol (UBSP) chief Michael W Banks shared a video, in which illegal Indian immigrants were shown to enter the C-17 aircraft by putting handcuffs in their hands and fetters in their feet.

This behavior with exiled people spread outrage in the country. Especially the opposition parties, demanding a discussion on the matter in Parliament, disrupted the proceedings of the budget session. In response, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the use of handcuffs was part of the US SOP and he also assured the opposition that the Center is interacting with the US administration to ensure that somehow with the exiles returning Do not misbehave.
