Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e Crash Test: The country’s leading automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra recently introduced its two new electric SUVs BE 6 and XEV 9e. Whose price is Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 21.90 lakh respectively. Now the crash test of both these SUVs has been done by Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). In which both the SUVs performed brilliantly and received 5-star safety rating. So let’s see how safe is this SUV and what does the crash test report say-

BE 6 score in Adult Safety: 31.97 points

The BE 6 scored 31.97 out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) test. The report said that the protection provided to the head, neck and chest area of ​​the driver and co-driving seat passenger was good. But it lost points for providing ‘adequate’ protection to the driver’s knees. In the side movable deformable barrier test, the SUV scored 16.00 out of 16.00, indicating good protection overall. It was found to be fine in the side pole impact test.

BE 6 Score in Child Safety: 45.00 point

BE 6 has scored 45 out of 49 points in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) test conducted to check the safety of children. It got 24 out of 24 marks during the dynamic test. Whereas in CRS installation test SUV has scored full 12 points out of 12 points. Apart from this, it has got 9 marks out of 13 in the vehicle stability test. For the child safety test, a dummy of an 18 month old and 3 year old child was tested. During this, the dummy was made to sit on the child seat facing backwards. Which was mounted on the front passenger seat, which was given safety protection by ISOFIX anchorage and a support leg.

Bharat NCAP has tested the top-spec Pack Three variant of this electric SUV with a 79kWh battery pack. But the report says that this safety rating also applies to the smaller battery pack (59kWh) variant.

Mahindra XEV 9e crash test: 5-star rating

The XEV 9e also comes with two different battery pack variants (59kWh – 79 kWh). This SUV has received a full 5-star rating in this crash test. The all-electric SUV has been given a full 32 out of 32 points for Adult Occupancy Protection (AOP) and 45/49 points for Child Occupancy Protection (COP). So let’s see what the report says:

XEV 9e scores in adult safety: 32.00 points

In the frontal offset deformable barrier and side movable deformable barrier tests, the XEV 9e scored a full 16 points out of 16 in both. Due to which this SUV has become the first car tested by BNCAP which has scored maximum 32 points in Adult Safety. The report says that the driver and front passenger dummies are rated high on all parameters. The XEV 9e was also rated ‘Good’ in the side pole impact test.

XEV 9e scores in child safety: 45.00 points

Talking about the child protection score of XEV 9e, this electric SUV has scored a full 24 points out of 24 in the dynamic test. Apart from this, the SUV has also scored 12 out of 12 in CRS installation assessment. In vehicle assessment, the SUV has scored 9 points out of 13. Due to this, this SUV has scored 45 points out of total 49 points in terms of child safety. During the test, dummies of an 18 month old and 3 year old child were used.
