Now Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra has revealed that when her husband Ashok Chopra was diagnosed with cancer, that period was very difficult for her. Madhu told how during that period, Hrithik and his father Rakesh Roshan had once helped her in a very difficult time.
Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan helped Priyanka’s family
When Priyanka’s father was diagnosed with cancer, he needed to be taken to Boston, America for further treatment. While talking on the show Something Bigger, Madhu Chopra said that her husband having cancer was the most vulnerable moment of her life. Recalling that period, she said that her husband was very ill and his brother living in the US had advised him to bring him to Boston.
Madhu told, ‘My brother said that if you feel even 5% chance of his survival then bring him to Boston. And it was a different task, taking him on the plane because no airline was ready to take such a serious patient, even though we had given all the disclaimers. At that time Priyanka was shooting for ‘Krrish’ with Hrithik Roshan and director Rakesh Roshan. He shared his problems with both of them.
Hrithik used all his resources
Madhu told, ‘It was a coincidence that Priyanka was shooting with Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan for ‘Krrish’, so she shared her problem. He asked, ‘Why are you crying?’ And then both father and son convinced the airlines to take us. He helped us, he talked to people, he knew people.
Priyanka had also mentioned in her autobiography ‘Unfinished’ that when her father was diagnosed with cancer, Hrithik Roshan was her biggest support. He had told that Hrithik picked up the phone and used all his connections in Air India so that his father could board the next flight.
